Welcome, Oz!

Congratulations to Blooma yoga teacher Bridgett Erickson! She birthed a beautiful baby boy named Oz on Saturday, Feb. 6. He weighed in at 8 lbs, 2 oz. Welcome to the world, sweet boy! We'll post a picture when we get one.

In the meantime, enjoy these lovely belly shots recently taken of Bridgett. These gorgeous images were captured by Leann Manning of honeybee & peony

Big love to you, Bridgett!

Blankets for Uganda

Thanks to Blooma yoga teacher Bridgett Erickson, whose recent Sunday morning class encouraged us to donate blankets to the women of Uganda. Below is a post from Bridgett about the experience:

About 20 women gathered to bless blankets to send to Uganda. First we spent about 45 minutes in a personal asana practice. Then we all sat in a circle (shaped more like a uterus!) and sent blessings to the blankets. Each woman took the blanket she had brought with her and after practicing with the blanket in her presence and meditating with it in her loving hands, each woman individually placed her blanket in the center of the circle as she spoke words of blessing and further blessed the blanket with water sprinkled from the petals of a rose.

There was a huge pile of blankets, full of love and blessings in the center of the circle. The women were happy to be a part of something greater than themselves and for the opportunity to give their blankets!

Bridgett

NEW CLASS: Take It Easy yoga

If you're looking for a class at Blooma that's more restorative in nature...
If you're new to yoga...
If you're newly postnatal (or just having a "postnatal" day!)...

Take It Easy yoga on Sunday mornings is the class for you! Enjoy a slow-but-steady moving, easy-going, laid-back hour on the mat as you soothe your stress while lightly energizing your body. We’ll concentrate on breath, add in a little bit of low-key strength-building work, and enjoy some feel-good stretching. You’ll leave feeling at ease in your body, at peace in the world, and delightfully relaxed. This is a class that is truly welcoming of everyone! Drop ins are welcome, or you can use your class pass. Bridgett Erickson teaches the class on Sunday mornings, 11:15am-12:15pm. See you there!

For Mother's Day: MAMAsana & Refreshments

Join us for MAMAsana at 1:30pm on Mother's Day. Mama-yogini Bridgett Erickson will host an hour of breath, restorative movement, well-being, and insight into the blessings of motherhood, followed by time to chat & enjoy refreshments with other Blooma mamas!

Here's what Bridgett has planned for the special class:

We'll be reminded that a connection to our breath and body through yoga enables us to experience each moment fully ... a reminder to forget the "shoulds" or "should nots" and just act from our intuition in the now. This will be a class that reminds mom that she rocks! :-) It will be on the more restorative end -- approachable for all moms and even accessible to new yogis. In fact, it's the perfect time to invite grandmas, aunts or other visiting moms who are celebrating with Blooma moms that day.
Afterwards, we'll take time to connect with other moms, celebrating a special day that is all about us ... just a few moments away from our sweet families to celebrate motherhood through yoga and community. Truly, this will be a time to rejuvenate after spending a morning of brunch and fun with your family!
